Parasol Leaf Tree
Parasol Leaf Tree
Parasol Leaf Tree
Introduction:
Parasol leaf trees thrive in bright sunlight. They are seen in low-altitude areas throughout Taiwan. Their sap is colorless at first but would become as red as blood once oxidized. This is why the trees are called “bloody tung tree” in Chinese. Parasol leaf trees have heart-shaped leaves that can grow up to 30cm. Their veins are bright yellow and the back of the leaves are covered with grayish white fuzzy hair. The leafstalks are just as long as the big leaves. The trees grow plenty of yellow-green flowers in the spring.
