Uca lactea

Uca lactea

Name:

Milky Fiddler Crab

Physical Features:

Milky fiddler crabs’ large clasping claws and backs are white, although their other small claws and legs are dark red. Older milky fiddler crabs have grayish and even pure black backs. Hence they can sometimes be mistaken as “perplexing fiddler crabs.”

Living Habits:

Male milky fiddler crabs tend to wave their claws frequently. They like to live in deeper caves (about 15cm deep). Around these caves one can find bits of their mud balls scattered in radial patterns.
