Rhizophora stylosa

Rhizophora stylosa

Introduction:

Rhizophora is a genus of tropical mangrove trees. It used to be mistakenly called “five-legged pears.” These evergreen trees are mostly 3-10 meters tall. Found near river outlets, lagoons and soft muddy lands, they are very typical mangrove trees. Yet today they are becoming more rare and can only be found in southern Taiwan, mostly in the wetlands of Sikunshen and Sicao, Tainan.
